Château Bourdieu offers a generous, Merlot-led expression of Bordeaux with ripe fruit and a satisfying structure. Its approachable richness makes it an appealing choice for traditional meat dishes and relaxed dinners.
Located in Berson in the Blaye area, Château Bourdieu has been associated with the Schweitzer family since 1993. The estate’s red wines draw on the Merlot-friendly conditions of Bordeaux’s right-bank landscape, with Cabernet varieties contributing to the blend.
The wine’s style centres on ripe red and dark fruit, accompanied by a gentle savoury and spicy impression. The palate is rounded and comfortably structured, with tannins that support the fruit through the finish. It offers a balanced combination of generosity and classic Bordeaux character.
We recommend serving at 16-18°C (61-64°F). Pair with roast beef, lamb, duck or mature hard cheeses. A little time in a decanter can help a younger bottle open up.
