Amarone Della Valpolicella Zelos 2021

Zelos Amarone della Valpolicella 2021 is a generous Veneto red with concentrated fruit and a smooth, enveloping palate. It offers an appealing introduction to the richness of Amarone while retaining a rounded, harmonious character.

Produced by Tenuta Gugi, Zelos follows the traditional appassimento approach, with selected grapes dried before fermentation. Maturation in French oak contributes to the wine’s depth and texture, giving it a distinct place in the producer’s collection.

Ripe red fruit and cherry are accompanied by delicate spice, liquorice and black pepper. The palate is soft and substantial, with a full, satisfying feel and a balanced finish. Its layered flavours make it a wine to enjoy slowly with a meal.

We recommend serving at 16-18°C (61-64°F). Pair with roast beef, braised lamb, game or aged cheeses. A little aeration can help the aromas open, but assess the bottle before decanting.
